Editor. Broadcaster. Lecturer.

I am a filmmaker, broadcaster, post-production consultant, oral historian and Senior Lecturer in Post-Production at the University of Hertfordshire.

I have been the creative behind a number of shorts, dramas, music videos, documentaries and promos - working on set and in the cutting room. My expertise is in post-production, and I have previously worked as a VFX editor on a number of features including Green Zone, Scott Pilgrim and Kick-Ass. I have worked on a number of highly successful independent films including the Arts Council funded "Impirioso", the award-winning documentary "On the Banks of the Beane", and the highly acclaimed oral history "Staircases to Nowhere". Clients have included Warner Brothers, Elstree Studios and the BBC.

I have filmed at Elstree Studios, the BBC Elstree Centre and Amblin Entertainment/Dreamworks Pictures in Los Angeles, with icons of film and TV including Sir Roger Moore, Brian Blessed, Steven Spielberg, Barbara Windsor, and Simon Pegg. Other partnerships I've been involved with include working closely with StudioCanal, editing documentaries for Elstree Studios, and BBC Digital East.

In my role as senior lecturer on an award-winning undergraduate film degree, I am very proud to have been the University of Hertfordshire Tutor of the Year in 2011. Students nominate the people they think most deserve recognition for outstanding commitment to and achievement in excellence in inspirational teaching with over 160 students nominating tutors in this category. I was commended for having passion for my subject and for my ability to enthuse my students. Students say I am "friendly, fun, patient, supportive, organised, intellectually stimulating, sincere, caring and a great teacher". I was described as "an asset to the course and to the University". I also came Highly Commended in the category of Excellence in Partnerships With Others at the 2013 awards.

I am an Apple Master Trainer, an Avid Certified Trainer and a Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Certified Trainer. I have run many successful certification training classes over the past decade, with students completing and passing their exams to gain industry recognised accreditation.

I make regular appearances on BBC Three Counties Radio as a film specialist for the Friday night Entertainment Hour, which is part of the Drivetime show presented by Roberto Perrone. Even if you don't live within the Three Counties area, you can always listen live or on catch-up through BBC iPlayer.
